1 - Ryan Kaplan: Banksy - I want change

My impression of successful art (because I think that any attempt at a useful definition is feeble) is: the communication from an ‘artist’ to an ‘audience’, of some idea or emotion via a medium deemed aesthetically or intellectually appealing by both parties. Attached is the picture of a work by Banksy, a pseudo-anonymous graffiti artist. I find the message conveyed by this work unoriginal but, I feel that this work is successful art by my definition. It conveys its message effectively through an aesthetic and (arguably) intellectual medium.
