1- Shannon Stacey: What is Art?

What is art?
As stated in class, art is definitely one’s expression. And although art’s definition is hard to put into exact words, art is more specific than “one’s expression”. Art is expression through movement, song, sculpture, picture, etc. But art is not expression through screaming and crying and expressing a tantrum. I am not certified to publish what is and is not art, but I think many will agree with me when I say such definition as an “expression” is not sufficient. How can a three letter word have such an intricate explanation? Art is a personal judgment with no limits, an artist’s statement, a form of communication, a completed goal, or someone’s creative need completed—or not. Art is all around, limitless.
My picture is a limitless pile of lines. The location: maybe used as a carpet pattern or a pattern on wallpaper or a blanket, t-shirt or other article of clothing.
