
This is Picasso in 1907. It's simple, sketchy and cubist. Even though it looks a little haphazard, when I compare it to photos of Picasso I still see his eyes very clearly. It feels a little like a mask over a face, but I think that is because of his cubist style. I the simplicity because it provides an interesting contrast to the high contrast lighting, and very detailed portraits of the Renaissance, which we we're looking at earlier in class.
